Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and Getogether. By creating an account or joining as a guest, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
Who can use Getogether
- You must be 16 or older.
- Getogether is invite-only: you join a group through an invite from someone in it. You can sign in with Google or with your email, or join as a guest.
- Keep your sign-in, sign-in codes, and any personal link you're given, to yourself. You're responsible for what happens through your account.
- Only connect a calendar that's yours (or one you're allowed to view). Its events are shown only to you.
Groups and admins
Whoever starts a group, and anyone they make an admin, can invite people, remove members, remove content, and rename or delete the group. Deleting a group deletes everything in it for everyone. Be thoughtful about who you make an admin.
What you post
- What you add (plans, comments, costs and so on) is yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people in your group, only so we can run Getogether. That permission ends when you delete it or your account, apart from copies in backups, which expire as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Only post things you have the right to share, and be careful with other people's personal details.
- Costs and payments in Getogether are a record to help friends settle up. We don't move any money, and we aren't responsible for who owes what.
Things not to do
- Harass, threaten, bully or hurt anyone, or post hateful, sexual or violent content about others.
- Post anything illegal, or share someone's private information without their permission.
- Use invites or emails from Getogether to send spam, or invite people who don't want to be invited.
- Pretend to be someone else, or use the service under 16.
- Try to get into accounts or groups that aren't yours, break or overload the service, or collect information about other people with scripts or bots.
To report something, use Report on the comment or plan, or email [email protected].
What we can do
To keep Getogether safe, we may remove content, remove people from groups, or suspend or remove accounts that break these terms. Where it's reasonable and safe, we'll tell you why. We may change, pause or end the service; if we plan to shut it down, we'll give you notice and a chance to download your data.
Leaving
You can leave a group or delete your account at any time, under your name in the app.
No guarantees
Getogether is a small service, provided "as is". We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that reminders and notifications will always arrive. Don't rely on it for anything critical.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything you or other people do with Getogether, and our total liability for any claim is limited to $100 CAD. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date above. If the change matters, we'll tell you in the app and ask you to agree again; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and of Canada that apply there. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections your local law gives you.
